ABOUT BIBY PUBLISHING
Biby Publishing LLC was established by Richard P. Biby, P.E., in 2004. Biby chose to begin publishing his first project, AGL magazine, with its premiere issue in October 2004. As an industry veteran, Biby recognized a need in the mobile-communications industry for an in-depth magazine addressing the needs of antenna-site professionals involved in wireless, broadcasting and land mobile.
Never before has such a talented, experienced group of communications professionals come together to address an industry need — and with such enthusiasm. Biby possesses an intimate knowledge of telecommunications systems and the infrastructure marketplace, having been a frequent commentator in the telecommunications field and having first-hand experience as an entrepreneur creating new companies. Biby then partnered with Don Bishop, past editorial director of Mobile Radio technology and industry veteran of 25+ years to help bring his dream to fruition.
"Antenna siting, through the establishment and control of tower and rooftop infrastructure, is the most significant element of wireless communications. More than 150,000 U.S. sites support two-way and one-way (broadcast) transmissions. This dynamic, multi-billion-dollar industry deserves in-depth attention and analysis that is now available through AGL," said Biby.
Biby's affection for radio technology and his desire to see a higher quality of editorial excellence in related trade publications are the engines driving AGL, of which he is Publisher/CEO. He has owned communication stations, has appeared in many zoning-application hearings and has provided professional engineering services to the siting industry for many years. Biby has also been the founder of two companies, Biby Engineering Services PC and SiteSafe LLC.
In addition to leading these two firms, he as served as Chief Technology Officer for Crown Castle International Corp. He has enjoyed active participation in professional industry associations and standards (including AFCCE, APCO, TIE, IEEE and PCIA) and governmental advisory committees for the FCC. He is a Fellow of the Radio Club of America. Rich Biby may be contact at rbiby@biby-pub.com.
